The goal is to reinforce social distancing protocols that are believed to be effective in slowing the progression of this illness, giving our health authorities time to mount a more substantial response.
Under the “Safer at Home” order, individuals are asked to stay at home or their place of residence and only leave for essentials.
While the orders do not include schools, Monrovia Unified has asked employees to telecommute beginning Friday, March 20. Some of our essential personnel, including food services and payroll, will need to continue completing their duties on site in order for our operations to continue.
Monrovia Unified understands the impact this order will have on our students, families, and members of our community. Rest assured, through these challenging times, MUSD will continue to provide our very best.
Please continue to follow the guidelines given by public health officials, and find ways to enjoy this time at home with your loved ones. We will provide regular updates through email, our website, and social media.
Sincerely,
Dr. Katherine Thorossian
Superintendent
