MUSD's Communications Department Receives Statewide Honors

The California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA), a statewide organization that promotes better public understanding, commitment, and support of public education, is pleased to announce that Monrovia Unified School District (MUSD) received an Award of Merit and Award of Excellence for two different videos created in-house during the 2023-24 school year. The following videos were the ones that were recognized:

 

• Award of Excellence: Back-to-School Safe Driving Tips: Keeping Our Students Safe
• Award of Merit: Inspiring Students: The Impact of Teachers at Monrovia High School

“It is extremely exciting to honor MUSD with this award,” said CalSPRA President Jessica Hull. “CalSPRA members across California help lead our school communities through a variety of challenges, providing effective communication in the face of uncertainty and polarization. Now, more than ever, successful communication is at the heart of public education. This award-winning example is just one way Monrovia Unified provides excellent communication work every day.”

CalSPRA’s Excellence in Communication Awards program recognizes superior achievement in meeting strategic goals through high-quality communications and public relations programs. Each entry is evaluated by communication professionals on the overall excellence of the entry. Awards were presented at CalSPRA’s Annual Conference and Awards Banquet on March 1, 2024, in Sacramento.

 

The California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA) is a nationally recognized leader in school communications with a membership of more than 850. Members represent school districts and county offices of all sizes, ranging from the largest urban districts to those located in remote areas serving one or two schools, as well as other professionals in the field of education.
