WHAT: | Monrovia Unified School District is partnering with the City of Monrovia and Centre Stage to host the Monrovia Days community festival. This year’s Monrovia Days theme honors the city’s hometown heroes, including students, doctors and nurses, firefighters, police officers and men and women in the U.S. military. The Monrovia Days Parade will feature students from all Monrovia Unified schools, including Monrovia High School ASB President Brenda Hernandez and senior class Vice President Thomas Jaime as grand marshals, Monrovia High’s marching band, football players, cheerleaders and Monrovia Unified School District’s 2016 Teacher of the Year Jennifer Tubbs. Throughout both days, the festival will highlight many of Monrovia Unified School District’s award-winning programs including robotics, Code to the Future, ceramics and a number of on-stage student performances. There will also be a variety of family-friendly attractions, entertainment, food, games, carnival rides, a pie-eating contest and a principal dunk tank. |
