Dear Monrovia Unified Community,

Monrovia Unified School District fosters a culture that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of students, staff, and parents. In an effort to continuously support this commitment while school is not in session over the summer, the district wants to remind families of the 24/7 mental health service available to you through our partner Care Solace.

Over 300 Monrovia High School seniors exited their vehicles, walked the green and white decorated stage, received their diplomas, and turned their tassels during the school’s drive-thru commencement ceremony at Monrovia High School on June 3.

Dear Monrovia Unified Community,

Thank you for your patience and partnership during a very difficult year. Our mission is to provide a world-class education - despite unforeseen obstacles. We will continue to remain true to that mission as we plan for the 2020-2021 school year. Next year promises its own set of unique challenges which we will address methodically and collaboratively.

The 2019-20 school year is quickly drawing to a close, and I find myself shocked that we have reached the end of May already. Since the beginning of our dismissal, I have missed our students, teachers, staff, and school community, but it has been wonderful to hear about our students’ many achievements even while on distance learning.

Highlighting the achievements and successes of each student, Canyon Oaks High School and Mountain Park Independent Study School will celebrate the graduating Class of 2020 with a drive-thru commencement ceremony at Monrovia High School on June 2.

The ceremony will follow all social distancing requirements and public health guidelines established for Los Angeles County.

Dear MUSD Families,

Thank you for your partnership during this historic time. When dealing with the unknown, my first instinct is to research to learn from history. In the last few months, I have been reading about the Spanish Flu that ravaged the world from 1918-1920. I found very little online about how education was impacted and decided to look inward.

For their strong academic achievement, perseverance, and dedication to pursuing their goals, Monrovia High School seniors Kate Tadeo and Jessica Lee have been named the Class of 2020’s valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

As we enter into these final weeks of school, we want to share with you how proud we are of your children's resilience, your patience and our classroom teachers’ ability to continue their lessons online.
