Monrovia High’s Suit Bots robotics team is in Houston, Texas, from April 18-21 to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) World Championships, which features 30,000 competitors on 1,400 teams from more than 60 countries.

Monroe Elementary fifth-grader Elisha Luckett rounded the last corner of a 400-meter race and launched himself in front of his competitors to take first place for the second consecutive year in the 13th annual Monrovia Elementary Olympic (MEO) Games.

Monrovia High School freshman Jordan Radnoti, known to classmates as “JRad,” has been racing for little over a year and already took first place in a Southern California mountain bike competition, racing on a 12.4 mile track with a time of 1:18:40 on March 18.

Lisa Herald, a 14-year history teacher at Santa Fe Computer Science Magnet School, has been named a regional winner for the California League of Middle Schools Educator of the Year for connecting lessons to student experiences and assigning hands-on projects that highlight student strengths and interests.

Fifteen Monrovia Unified third-graders, sitting in a row and divided by blue partitions, quickly jotted down answers to math problems on whiteboards as they competed in the final rounds of the District’s inaugural Math Bee.
