Clifton Middle School seventh-grade student Caroline Squirre is excited to learn how to build her projects through the school’s brand new 3-D printers and laser cutter, in addition to having an education focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), to help pave the road to her dream of attending the California Institute of Technology.

Santa Fe robotics students guided their robot to launch plastic balls into a basket while another group of students operated a green screen photo booth as their community celebrated the reopening of their school as a computer science magnet during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 6.

Monrovia Unified School District will unveil Santa Fe Computer Science Magnet School with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. The reopening of the middle school will be dedicated to preparing students for the demands of college and an increasingly competitive job market.

Wild Rose Elementary students peeked through a square opening in their handmade sun projectors, made from a cardboard shoe box, hoping to safely catch a glimpse of the mid-morning solar eclipse on Aug. 21.

For the first time this millennium, a total solar eclipse will be visible in the contiguous U.S. on Monday, Aug. 21 – providing Monrovia Unified students with an amazing opportunity to learn about astronomy by experiencing a celestial phenomenon.

Sporting Azusa Pacific University (APU) T-Shirts and holding pennants during a July 26 Monrovia Unified Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Katherine Thorossian signed an agreement with APU President Dr. Jon R. Wallace to provide high school students a pathway to a high-quality, affordable university education.

More than 400 Monrovia Unified seniors eagerly stepped on stage to receive their diplomas during two days of graduation ceremonies honoring Canyon Oaks High School, Mountain Park School and Monrovia High School graduates.

Wearing American flag bandanas and tie-dye shirts decorated in red, white and blue, the Clifton Middle School robotics team known competitively as the Hippie Bots stunned an international field of high school and college students by winning the 2017 FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Dutch Open in Eindhoven, Netherlands on May 20 as the only competing American team.
