Students from Monrovia High, Santa Fe Computer Science Magnet and Clifton Middle School joined more than 1,000 of their peers from across Southern California at Monrovia High to learn how to become leaders in a digital society as part of the Josten’s Renaissance’s “Find Your Grind” Tour.

More than 650 Clifton Middle School students took a walking field trip to a nearby theater on Nov. 17 to watch “Wonder” as a culminating event to Kindness Week. The film shows the struggles of a middle school student with a genetic disorder trying to make friends.

Monrovia High School Senior Nathan Nakamura has been selected as a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist for earning a high score on his PSAT, placing him in the top 1 percent of high school seniors across the nation. Nakamura earned a 1500 out of a possible 1520 PSAT score.

Monrovia Unified School District’s award-winning Village Extended School Program, which provides before- and after-school support for more than 600 District elementary and middle school students, will host a Lights On After School celebration highlighting student achievement with entertainment, songs and dance.
