Estimada comunidad del Distrito Unificado de Monrovia,

A medida que avanzamos en nuestra segunda semana de receso estudiantil quiero asegurarle que el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes, personal, familias y comunidad permanece en primer plano en cada decisión. Todos estamos aprendiendo durante este tiempo. Good Evening Monrovia Unified Community,

Throughout the process of student dismissal, Monrovia Unified has remained in constant communication with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and public health officials to ensure we are delivering the most up-to-date information regarding COVID-19. Following a recommendation today from LACOE, Monrovia Unified will extend student dismissal until Monday, May 4, with students returning on Tuesday, May 5.

A lo largo del proceso de salida de estudiantes, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Monrovia ha permanecido en constante comunicación con la Oficina de Educación del Condado de Los Ángeles (LACOE) y los funcionarios de salud pública para garantizar que estamos emitiendo la información más actualizada sobre el COVID-19. Siguiendo la recomendación hoy de LACOE, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Monrovia extenderá el receso de los estudiantes hasta el lunes 4 de mayo, y los estudiantes regresando el martes 5 de mayo.

Given the County and State orders designed to slow the spread of COVID-19 by enforcing stricter social distancing protocols, the Monrovia Unified School District Board of Education has modified the manner in which it will be conducting meetings for the duration of these orders.

This evening, Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a statewide “Stay at Home” order as the latest measure designed to slow the spread of COVID-19. The order follows a similar “Safer at Home” order issued by Los Angeles County. Both require nonessential businesses to cease operations that require workers to be present.

All of Monrovia schools will be providing free breakfast and lunch to all MUSD students. You may pick up the grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals at the same time for your children at the school closest to your home.

Monrovia Unified teachers and staff have been working tirelessly to ensure our students continue to receive the high-quality education they are used to. Our District’s top priority is to ensure our students are equipped with the resources they need to be successful.

En este primer día de salida de nuestros estudiantes, quería compartir con usted que todos nuestros miembros del personal estuvieron trabajando incansablemente para desarrollar material de instrucción para sus hijos. Cada día parece traernos nueva información y directrices del condado, estado, y gobierno federal, todos los miembros del personal se enfocaron en asegurarse de que cada estudiante tuviera los recursos que ellos necesitan hoy. Por esta razón, la distribución del chromebook se hizo una de nuestras principales prioridades.

On this first day of student dismissal, I wanted to share with you that all staff members were working tirelessly to develop instructional material for your children. As every day seems to bring us new information and guidelines from the county, state, and federal government, all staff members focused on ensuring that students had the resources they need today. For that reason, the Chromebook distribution became one of today’s top priorities.
